The brain is the most complex organ in the human body, it controls all of our thoughts and actions. There are about 100 billion neurons in the brain and each neuron has about 1000 connections to other neurons, making it a highly complex system. It also contains neurotransmitters which affect emotions like happiness or anger by sending messages from one neuron to another
The brain is made up of three main parts: the cerebrum, the cerebellum, and the brain stem.
- The cerebrum: makes up two thirds of our brain’s total weight and handles all cognitive functions such as learning, thinking, and reasoning. The cerebellum helps to control balance and coordination.
- The brain stem: controls automatic functions such as breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature regulation, etc.
- The spinal cord: connects different parts of our body with our brain.
